- Valve: It is divided into intake valve and exhaust valve. Intake valves are used to control the entry of air and fuel, while exhaust valves are used to discharge exhaust gases after combustion. The shape and size of the valve head affects the efficiency of intake and exhaust, and the material needs to be able to withstand high temperatures and frequent shocks.
- Valve springs: Ensure that the valves fit snugly into the valve seats when they are closed and that they open and close in a timely manner under the action of the camshaft. Valve springs must have the right coefficient of elasticity, otherwise the valves may not close properly or open properly.
- Camshaft: It controls the opening and closing times and the lift of the valves. The cam contour on the camshaft determines the movement pattern of the valves and maintains a precise transmission relationship with the crankshaft through the timing belt or timing chain to ensure the normal air exchange process of the engine.
Fuel Supply System Parts
- Fuel pump: delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the engine's injectors. The electric fuel pump is usually installed in the fuel tank, which can provide enough pressure to make the fuel overcome the resistance of the pipeline and the opening pressure of the injector nozzle to ensure the normal supply of fuel.
- Injector nozzles: Spray fuel into the engine cylinder in the form of mist. Injector nozzles have very small spray holes, which can make the fuel fully atomised and better mixed with the air, thus improving the combustion efficiency. Different types of engines (e.g. petrol and diesel engines) have different structures and working principles of fuel injectors.
- Fuel filter: filters impurities in the fuel, preventing impurities from entering the fuel supply system of the engine and damaging the fuel pump and injectors and other components. It is usually installed in the fuel line and needs to be replaced periodically to ensure the filtering effect.
