With the rapid development of science and technology, autonomous driving technology has gradually become the new darling of the automobile industry. Its core lies in the real-time monitoring and control of vehicle running state by using advanced sensors, controllers and actuators, so as to achieve the purpose of completing driving tasks without human intervention. In this process, various automobile parts play a vital role.
1. Perception system: Perception is the basis of autonomous driving, which mainly includes camera, radar (such as millimeter wave radar), LiDAR and ultrasonic sensor. They are respectively responsible for obtaining information about the environment around the vehicle, such as road conditions, obstacle positions and pedestrian dynamics. After processing, these data will be sent to the decision-making module to guide the next action. For example, when the camera detects pedestrians in front, it will immediately start the emergency braking program to avoid collision accidents; LiDAR, on the other hand, can provide more accurate distance measurement results and help vehicles accurately judge the relative position relationship between themselves and other objects.
2. Control system: The control system is mainly composed of an electronic control unit (ECU), which is equivalent to the brain of a self-driving car. By receiving the signal from the sensing system and combining with the preset algorithm for analysis and calculation, ECU can make a series of instructions such as acceleration, deceleration or steering, and transmit them to the corresponding actuator to change the actual driving state of the vehicle. In addition, in order to ensure safety and stability, modern self-driving cars are usually equipped with redundant design-even if a component fails, it can quickly switch to the backup scheme to continue normal work.
3. Power transmission device: For electric vehicles, the motor and its driving circuit have become one of the key components. High-performance power system not only needs to meet the daily driving needs, but also has the ability of rapid response, so as to flexibly deal with emergencies in complex and changeable road environment. At the same time, the battery management system (BMS) is also very important. It can effectively monitor the power level and temperature changes, and ensure the cruising range and prolong the service life.
4. Man-machine interaction interface: Although the goal is to completely liberate the driver's hands and feet under certain conditions, at this stage, most self-driving cars of L3 and above still retain the necessary manual operation option, that is, the so-called "takeover" function. This requires the development of an intuitive and easy-to-understand operation panel or touch screen, which is convenient for users to know the current working mode at any time and intervene in the operation process when necessary.
To sum up, each component plays an indispensable role in promoting the progress of autonomous driving technology. In the future, with the deepening of research in the fields of materials science and artificial intelligence, we have reason to believe that more efficient, reliable and economical solutions will emerge continuously, which will eventually lead to the arrival of the truly unmanned era.
